DDS Lab is proud to announce that Justin Shaw joined our team as Fabrication Manager in April 2022. He oversees fabrication at our Tampa facility — including the implant, porcelain, ortho, and removable departments and our digital scan and design team.

Justin served 11 years in the United States Air Force as a manager and trainer of military dental laboratories while stationed at several military bases throughout the United States. Earlier this year, he finished his career with the Air Force at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, FL, before joining DDS Lab.

Justin’s impact

Justin specializes in fixed, digital, and implant restorations and has a broad knowledge base in all fields, including removable and ortho. The experience and expertise he brought can already be seen with the enhancements in our production process:

  1. The introduction of an effortless workflow that improves efficiency.
  2. The standardizing of our operations by moving away from stock implant abutments to attain a better product with improved aesthetics. Confirming our customers receive the right product the first time ensures they we apply our new streamlined processes.

New internal training programs

Justin has extensive experience training dental technicians and is using that knowledge to develop ongoing education programs for our team members in Tampa. To date, he has implemented training programs in dental terminology, anatomy, and aesthetics to ensure our team members speak the same language and communicate effectively with our customers. Enhanced knowledge of aesthetics aims to improve the overall aesthetic outcomes of the clinical cases we fabricate.

The cross-training program Justin initiated helps newer technicians gain more experience on an accelerated timeline. This will help improve the efficiency and the precision of our laboratory fabricating restorations.

What does this mean for you, our valued customer?

    • Improved aesthetics and quality restorations for your patients—ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
  • Faster and more effective communication.

On a personal note, Justin is married with an 8-year-old daughter and a son due to arrive in September of 2022.

Our customers and our organization will benefit from Justin’s proficiencies. We can’t wait for you to notice the impact. Welcome to the DDS Lab family, Justin.
